Rensizzle Enrichment Week 2012
Rensizzle Week is seven consecutive days during the school year when 7th-12th grade students have the opportunity, together with Renaissance teachers, to actively explore a topic of interest in great depth. During this week the high school departs from its regular schedule so that clusters can devote the entire school day to their process of exploration and research. Students prepare a presentation at the end of the week to share what they have learned. Students gain experience in leadership and group building, the process of conducting research and the creation and execution of a presentation.

Visit from Denmark
Renaissance receives a visit from a group of students from Denmark, interested in visiting an urban school with a diverse population.
Anti-Bullying Event
Renaissance hosted Miss New York (Queens resident Kaitlin Monte) and representatives from the Charter Center, the Charter Parent Action Network (CPAN), bullying expert Perry Aftab, and State Senator Jeff Klein, who is leading a legislative push to crack down on cyberbullying.
Freedom Ride 2011
Renaissance students and staff joined high school students from four other schools around New York to mark the 50th anniversary of an important Civil Rights moment with a bus trip to Jackson, Mississippi.
